And the Dennis G. Pappas Historical Collections Gallery located in Lister Hill Library is open for tours. The newest exhibit, House Calls to Hospitals, opens September 18. The Lister Hill Library is UAB card access only, but there is a doorbell, and someone from our circulation desk will buzz you in. We’ll let them know to expect guests!

Closing Reception Information

The closing reception will be held at Vulcan Park and Museum, located at 1701 Valley View Dr., Birmingham, AL 35209. New Generations Charter will provide shuttle service between the Hilton UAB and Vulcan Park and Museum. The shuttle will leave the Hilton UAB at 5:30 pm and again at 6:00 pm. The shuttle will leave Vulcan and return to the Hilton UAB at 8:00 pm and again at 8:30 pm. Please meet in the hotel’s main lobby to board the shuttle. For those who need assistance upon arrival, a golf cart will be available at the Vulcan entrance to transport people to the reception venue.

The entertainment is Janet Simpson, a local musician and amazing performer. She’ll have her full band.
