SOCHAP-L was begun in January 1996 as a communication vehicle for members of SC/MLA. The list is used for the dissemination of news and the discussion of business and issues related specifically to the Southern Chapter. This list is not intended to serve as a forum for the discussion of general medical librarianship issues such as those addressed on MEDLIB-L.

The SOCHAP-L discussion list is a private list open only to paid members of SC/MLA. New members are automatically added to the list upon joining the chapter.
